About

Hi there and welcome to my latest adventure in this amazing world of latex, which is “The Balloon Artistes Guild” forum. I know we could have put the tutorials just up on another platform for people to view but I was looking for something a little more interactive and community based where we can all grow as balloon artistes and help and share ideas etc.

So a little about myself, I have been entertaining for over 36 years with my magic shows and balloon modelling. I got the bug for balloon modelling when I was at an International Brotherhood of Magicians convention and there was a one balloon Hippo left on a table. I was intrigued and was trying to work out how it was made and went together. I spent a while finding the person who made it and he kindly explained the design to me and from that day I have been hooked and that one balloon Hippo has changed my life. You can view my variation on the Hippo here on BalloonTube, HIPPO as I posted it as the very first tutorial when we started BalloonTube some six years ago now. Thinking about it I have a different easier version I now make; I should have posted that as the very first tutorial for this forum. I will record the variation and post sometime soon. I’m more than happy to share my wealth of experience in the balloon industry with everyone. If you would like to join then please follow the link, “The Balloon Artistes Guild”

I have been running what was the “Care and Share” balloon days all over the UK since 2005 and must be up to nearly 200 days by now. We have been running between 10 and 12 days a year and then attending conventions either running workshops, teaching or performing my balloon magic act. The “Care and Share” days nine years ago changed to The Balloon Artistes Guild when we started to get top balloon artistes from all over the world coming over to the UK to run workshop and training days for us. I would like to thank both Sempertex balloons (5 years) and Qualatex balloons (12 years) for sponsoring the days over the past 17 years, it is very much appreciated.

We are still running the balloon days all over the UK but they are going back to just myself lecturing and running the days as we did for the first eight years.

As I wanted to keep a record of the balloon designs I have been making we started BalloonTube some six years ago and last month July 2022 we posted tutorial number 100 and thought it would be a good place to stop there and carry on with my next adventure in the balloon world, The Balloon Artistes Guild forum.

So welcome along and thank you for trusting me to deliver what we hope will be a good resource where we can all learn and grow as balloon artistes. I do have a free forum, Balloon Chat that has been running since 2008, there is also a wealth of information and tutorials there if you would like to take a look, BALLOON CHAT.

Please don’t forget if you do sign up or purchase a premium tutorial these are all sent to you manually so I do have to be about and it might take a day or two depending what I’m up to and where I am in the UK.

If you are based in the UK and need any balloon product then please check out Balloon Art Wholesale.
Thanks, it would be appreciated, www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk
